why are some musical combinations so great? for example, i adore Ben Folds, but Ben Folds Five was so very special. and whilst i absolutely love the White Stripes, i’ve never warmed to anything else Jack White has done. any other examples? agree? disagree?
i would probably tell him to take better care of those Armoured Angel demo cassettes. or at least ‘store’ them somewhere more obvious, ‘cause 21 years and several houses later i got no idea where those fucken things are…
Metalheads: The Genre Wars - are you in, or are you out? What exactly is ‘metal’ anyway, and do you really care?

I could name a few people I guess who have inspired me over the years (many of whom I’ve been privileged to meet actually, but they’re prob’ly different stories for different questions) but Henry Rollins is an enduring hero of mine, since I was quite young and still through to today. The irony being that he would hate the idea of anyone idolising him, but that’s part of what I love about him.
Erm, yesterday I guess. New album by 7 Horns 7 Eyes. Pretty solid.
Ask me questions about music, skating, fun stuff http://www.formspring.me/nomadiqueMC
no, i think original music is still highly regarded. popular music is in a weird place at the moment, and to put a positive spin on it, it’s good to see people taking an interest in music of the ‘past’ (whatever that is). handing out these sorts of awards is kinda weird, but then again there are some great rereleases getting around that are noteworthy.
a good analogy is hollywood, i suppose, and its current obsession with remakes and reboots. hopefully they’ll get over it soon, but amongst the tripe there’s the occasional worthy homage to something gone by. for the record, george lucas does not fit into that category.
music. music is colourful to me.
wikileaks. or anonymous. or i just post it on twitter ‘cause i just don’t give a shit.
i love how racism is just the norm for mainstream america. so fucking oblivious. idiots. i’m with Bowling for Soup - remember when there was music on MTV?
“what the fuck just happened?”
hip-hop on ipods and metal on records;
tshirts emblazoned with demons and swear words;
docs and chuck taylors and stainless steel bling;
these are a few of my favourite things.
skateboards and posters and speakers and banners;
big hairy rockers with beards and no manners;
freddy and jason and old stephen king;
these are a few of my favourite things.
in the moshpit;
at the skate park;
when i’m feeling bold;
i simply remember my favourite things;
and then i don’t feel so old…
i dunno, probably silence? you’d need to steal my ipod as well to actually be listening to something. and then i’d have to beat your thieving face in. MTV are stealing people’s headphones now? times really are tough…
Accurate.
